I have a Voigtlander Bessamatic which seems to have jammed. I have taken the bottom plate off and found no release mechanism. Before I embark on a more serious strip-down I wonder if anyone has advice or guidance. Also does anyone have or know how to get a service/repair manual for this camera? Cheers |

The Bessamatic has a master shaft that runs fore/aft below the mirror box: when the shutter is cocked, you can reach the front end of it through the lens mount; when released, you can reach the back end through the film opening.Try dripping some lighter fluid onto the ends of this shaft and see if it begins to work. rick : ) = |

I have a recently acquired Bessamatic which functions perfectly other than the fact that a black mask appears to have shifted horizontaly so that a thin black line appears vertically in the viewfinder. How easy is it to access this and refit? Thanks deebel |

Hi guys, I seem to have the same problem ar Deebel up here. I tried to take the front off, by taking the 3 little screw out, but it was a dead end. Any suggestions ? Thank you ! |

In order to access the shutter, you need to remove the ring from inside the camera (accessed through the film gate). There is a good Bessamatic repair CD sold through eBay... |
