I bought a Welmy Six a while back and recently got around to giving it a CLA. Now for the weird part: Before cleaning it, the shutter was a little slow. Now it's about twice as fast as it should be. The one second shutter speed takes about half a second. It's easy enough to adjust for, but does anyone have any idea what could have happened? All I THINK I did was to clean the gears and blades and very lightly oil the gears. |

Maybe somebody before you had adjusted the slow speeds without cleaning the escapement. Now, after you cleaned the escapement, it runs faster and has to be adjusted back to run more slowly... Of course, I am just hypothesizing. |

That makes sense, of a sort, but what kind of idiot... Never mind, Now that I think of it, I've run into several of those kinds of idiots before. |
