I have an old F-1 which has been recently CLA'ed. On the first roll I put through it, there was one overlapped frame by a distance of about 2 perfs. I took the bottom off and took a look at the advance mechanism. All the gears have all their teeth and everything seems to be moving as it should. Is this just a freak thing that happens occasionally? Any ideas as to what may have caused this? Thanks. |

Could this be caused by faulty film processing equipment?? Richard. |

The F1 is tough and very reliable. A two perforation overlap is not normal or something that should occur even occasionally for that camera. It could have been a poorly loaded roll of film. Did the overlap occur at the beginning, end or mid roll? If you have a junk roll of film, load the camera and with the back removed, wind and fire the camera. Observe if the film is advancing properly. The wind should feel smooth and without hesitation or catching. If it happens again have your camera tech look at it. |

Sounds like you have disengaged the sprocket shaft by inadvertently engaging the rewind 'mechanism' just prior to advancing the film, and exposing the frame that did the overlapping. |
