Hi ALL, I've sorted the aperture and shutter blades, had to remove the whole lens unit. The winder mechanism is stuck though. It seems to be somewhere in the shaft that runs from winder arm to bottom of the mechanism in the base. Any suggestions before I remove the frame counter etc.. and see what's under there. Is it something obvious I'm missing ?. Thanks Zakk |

I tore down a Fugi once that I thought was malfunctioning (shutter would not fire, winder was hung up), and after getting it apart and working the mechanism a few times, it hit me. You had to have the battery in to fire the shutter, and until that happened, you couldn't wind the film. You may have a similar interlock on your Koni. Try tripping the shutter first (if there is enough of it left). You'll probably have to go in from the bottom to access a lever to do this, although I was able to trip the Fugi's shutter from the top, next to the film counter. PF |

I understand what you are saying however I already had the lens unit removed. So all there was is the wind arm, rod down to the winding rack with nothing to wind, still stuck. Hence the question..what am I missing ?. Thanks for the reply anyway. Zakk |

The KAS2 doesn't require batteries to function; the battery only operates the meter and the meter/aperture coupling mechanism when in Auto (shutter priority) mode. I.e., you can shoot Sunny 16 with the KAS2. |
