Hello to all- first time repairman here. I would like to fix this camera for an enthusiastic teenager to learn photography. Question: worth trying to fix myself, send out or throw away? Problem: light control not functioning. Auto focus works in sync with lenses, but not enough light enters no matter the lense type or whether flash is attached. Shutter will not depress as meter registers too dark, which it is, even with flash icon flashing in the viewfinder, not stable and ready. Aperture control broken? Curtain? Mount connection? Any ideas? Thank you |

You can get a 2Xi or 3 Xi body for e few dollars (according to an ebay search I just did on completed auctions) - probably at the same price shipping to and from a repairer would cost (meaning postage only, no repair done). So if the electronics are gone getting a replacement is certainly cheaper. Sorry, can't tell the reason for the problem your camera shows. Martin |

Thank you. You know, I was thinking about that and figured I'd better ask as I hate throwing equipment away. Think I'll heed your advice! |
