Looks like the one source of 122 roll film I know about has dried up - no longer listed in the product catalog - so if I want to use my old Zeiss Ikon Nixe it looks like it will have to be with sheet film. Does anyone have experience with this, and know what pieces and parts I need? I can cut my own film sheets, I'm not worried about the film part, but I don't know how to make it work with my camera. |

Here is what I have. Looks like maybe there's something I don't have that would replace the rectangular back with the red window for roll film, and hold the sheet film?

If it isn't clear, the black metal part lays in the back opening, and the lower part slides in from the right to seal it off. I presume there was another part that replaced these and also slid in from the right, apparently holding the sheet film somewhat farther back from the lens? |

Actually, that doesn't look like a sheet film holder. What it looks like to me is something that used the same kind of film that the old Ansco Vest Pocket Cameras used. There were sheets of film on a roll, alternating with something that looked like waxed paper. The "waxed paper" was used for focusing, like a view camera, then you would close the shutter and wind it until the film was in place. |

Interesting, thanks Fallisphoto - that makes sense. This is definitely not a sheet film holder, I'm presuming that would be a separate piece that replaces it - a piece I don't have. The camera focus scale has two positions, one for roll film and the other for sheets, so it would appear that the sheet film plane is farther back. |

No ideas, eh? I'm guessing there must be something like a Speed Graphic film holder for the back end, but several searches turned up nothing - and when image searches start turning up useless unrelated pictures and then porn, you know there's just nothing out there. ;-) Alternatively does anyone know of a source to an original manual, in any language? |

Looks like it might be this, called a "665/7" film holder. http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/zeiss-9x12-plate-holder-665-117931-7647268 0 Probably about as rare as hen's teeth, but perhaps another manufacturer made something similar that would fit the Nixe? |

O.K., last gasp and then I'm off on my own with this. The film format for this camera is apparently 9x14, not 9x12, and since I cannot find the slightest hint of even *one* original holder for sale on the planet, I am resolved to fabricate my own adaptor from scratch so that I can use standard 5x7 film holders, like this one: http://i.ebayimg.com/t/5x7-Fidelity-Elite-Film-Holders-Near-mint-only-used-few-t imes-/00/s/MTA2NlgxNjAw/$(KGrHqJHJBcE63Vgy76LBO5hVHhWOg~~60_12.JPG Has anyone attempted a similar project? Any tips? |
