This might be way too specific and can probably only answered by someone who's fixed this problem. I've opened up my Olympus 35 SP and I can see that the self time lever moves a small gear over to a bigger gear on the conects the camera cocker stuff to the shutter triggers and self timer. The problem is that the self timer little gear is on a spring loaded arm that wants to pull back away from the engagement position. But, I've also noticed that little pivot lever right next to the the self timer pivot has a little arm that I can swing into place (into a little pocket) to force the self timer gear to stay in position. The problem is that that next door pivot w/ arm has a spring going back the other way. It seems to me that I need a little wire or spring to connect those two pivots to work against that thing so that when you pull the self timer switch over, it would drag that neighbor pivot w/arm over with it, so the stop jam arm can pop into its pocket. Am I right on this? Any suggestions? I apologize for the non-tech language and long and rambling question. P.S. I got this thing apart without and lens spanners as suggested by helpful others.
