I have an early AF-D 3.8-5.6 that had been disassembled and the elements and spacers mixed-up! I reckon I have the front & zoom a-ok but the rear group eludes me. I thought I had tried all feasible combinations,having downloaded diagrams of similar focal length lenses(can't find any reference to this one),but no bright image greets me. Any one with a schematic, photo,artists impression,help of any kind. Other than the final solution..I already have the deep hole in mind. |

Well, I hope some one can get a diagram for you. I'm sorry that I don't have one. These lenses are somewhat complicated and have defeated many a first timer. But I have done the Kirons and Samsungs successfully when they were in a never disassembled condition.
Don't give up in any case. Sometimes you can just go to the 'bay and get a non-working, never disassembled example for small cost. It has worked for me more than once, for a lens I really wanted to get going. Sometimes, a manual is available but costs far more than the cost of another (junk) lens.
This whole group of lenses (28-200, 28-210) are surprisingly good if you can accept a bit of barrel distortion at the wide end and a bit of softness at the long end. |
