I was given a vitomatic IIa with fungus on its lens. How can I get into the lens assembly to clean it? |

The complete lens comes away from the shutter but does require some special tools to remove the retaining ring, and a jig with a locating peg to hold the mount while your applying pressure to the ring. Hope this doesn't sound too confusing. |

I have some factory 'exploded' diagrams of Vitomatic I lens/shutter and tools required for dismantling. From memory,I think this is same as IIa. I do not have a scanner but will attempt to photograph the pages and upload them. Soon as I find them! The lens and focussing mount were all brass and easily seized if given a knock to the front. i'll try to uplift a pic. of this too. |
