Hi all.
I recently received a Nikon EM from my dad and the film wind on lever was stuck. I got a repair manual (Tomosy, Thomas ) and managed to free it and it seems to be working properly. The problem is that when I crank the lever it winds on and the shutter curtains go up, but at the last second at the end of the wind eveything slips back as if the fire button has been activated. If I click the mirror activation lever up on the front of the camera just behind where the lens sits then the curtains seem to stay in place and the mechanism waits for the fire button to release it. The manual only handles certain areas of the camera.

I know this is a mouthful but can anyone help me here? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Mike
