I came across this beautifully made rangefinder - the Auto SE is similar to the great Auto S-2, but has a 38mm Hexanon lens and spring-wound drive. I would have thought that the spring drive would be a cause of problems but, it works perfectly. Unfortunately, the shutter will not fire without a battery and after much searching and 'googling' I have hit a dead end.... Does anybody know which battery this camera takes? Or - what is the voltage of the battery so that I could come up with an equivalent? Please keep in mind that this is not an Auto S or Auto S-2, which take a PX625. Many thanks, Jan |

Well, I found the answer - for those looking for same information: The Konica Auto SE used to take: Eveready E1N / Mallory RM-1N / PX1 / MR50 / RPX1 / EPX1 / RM1 / RMIN / V1PX / H-P / BMR50 / Leclanche MR85 / ISA-MR850. These were 1.5V batteries and apparently the curent Alkaline replacement is PX1A. There you have it... Jan |
