Hi all, I wonder if anybody can help me please. I have just recently acquired a Minolta SRT100x but I am having some problems with the exposure needle. I have replaced the battery with a new one but the needle only works intermittently.Any ideas?

Undoubtedly a bad electrical contact somewhere.

Without doing any disassembly, you can try this:

Clean the battery chamber and screw down holder. Move the meter switch back and forth forty or fifty times.

Move the f-stop ring on the lens around a few dozen times.

Rotate the shutter speed dial a few dozen times.

Check to see if any of this helps.

Report back here with the results.

Both the f-stop ring and the speed dial have definitely no influence on any electronic contacts in SRTs, W.

Thanks for the info, I cleaned the battery chamber and adjusted the metal spring slightly and it seems to have remedied the fault, thanks again.

Another common issue in the SRT series is the ON/OFF switch: it's nothing but a brush that rubs on a surface conductor on a printed circuit board, and somewhat susceptible to both dirt and wear. It's easy to reach for cleaning by removing the baseplate.
