Does anyone know . . . is there a standard thread pitch size for lens filters, or does it vary with the diameter? If it varies, what are the choices? I bought a lens jack to straighten bent filter rings. On my first attempt, it worked pretty well diameter wise, but the threads are kinda buggered up . If I knew the thread pitch, I have a tool with replaceable bits for thread cleaning. That should allow a filter to fit this lens. Thanks again, Michael |

Modern Metric: 0.75 for European Filters. Some are 1.00 Pitch. The rest of the imperial measured vintage ones are a bit of an enigma. Goodluck with your lens jack. |

I clean these out sometimes using a metric thread gauge... find the one that fits (generally .75 i think as Rj suggests) and scrape it along the damaged part of the thread, the adjacent grooves will help guide the tool and the steel gauge is harder than the aluminum ring. |
