Hello - I have taken apart the rear focusing mount, completely apart to clean and re-lube, and in prep as a dry run I am trying to get it back together and can not for the life of me figure out how the 3 pieces fit back together. It is in the Exakta mount. I just can not get all three pieces lined back up to fit properly Help!

Is the lens pre-set, semi-auto, or manual? I have yet to get my hands on an Exakta Biotar, but I've stripped pre-set and semi-auto in M42 mount.

The general rule for fitting the outer helical to the focus-mount is to screw it in as far as it will go (grease it first, as well as the helical!), then turn it back to the first point where the infinity mark lines up with the focus index. If you have taken the helical apart without marking where the 2 parts separate, you may have no option but trial and error. If you are lucky, there may be a mark on the outer helical which lines up with the guide slot in the inner at the point where they separate. My pre-set had one which I think came from the factory.
