I recently picked up a cheap Konica FTA on ebay that was advertised as a "non-working" camera. The FTA is identical to the Autoreflex T(1); I think it was the version of the Autoreflex sold on the Japanese market. I was able to get the shutter unjammed and found that the meter was still working and apparently accurate. However, regardless of what lens I have on it (it is equipped with a Hexanon 57mm 1.4), and regardless of the meter reading, the lens when set on "EE" will always stop down to minimum aperture (f16 on older Hexanons and f22 on newer -- or less old -- Hexanon lenses). Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fix this problem? Thanks in advance for your help. |

I don't have any notes on those details but it sounds like your stop down mechanism is failing to trap the meter needle as it's supposed to for the 'EE' function. I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions as to where to look for the problem. |

Are the 2 chrome forks of the AE mechanism properly engaged with the grey colored auto ring? |

Mark, is the tab on the auto ring sitting fully clockwise at the 7 o'clock position? If it is sitting at about 5 o'clock then that could be the cause of the stop down problem. When replacing the front panel the auto ring has a tendency to click over to the AE setting. It is a problem I encountered when working on the T, but the T2 has a slightly different mechanism and the auto ring stays put. |
