Hello. I've recently inherited my dad's srt 101 that he purchased while in Vietnam. The camera is in pretty good condition (he would never let anyone touch it) but the finder eyepiece has been "bumped" at some point and one side of it is slightly pushed inward. The real problem is that when that happened, it seems to have made some black plastic shavings from the scraping action during the push and the shavings have now made a home on top of the glass piece with the circular patterns that is seen when looking through the eyepiece. How easily can I remove the eyepiece glass and clear the shavings out? I found an exploded view of the camera but was nervous about opening it up. I removed the small screws and it didnt seem to want to come open and I wasnt going to force it. Is this an easy fix? I thank you for any responses. Patrick |
