Hi folks: Haven't posted in a while; been very busy at work. One benefit, my boss heard that I like old film cameras and he brought in a very nice Minolta XG-A that only needed light seals and batteries. The interesting one is the Minolta Hi-Matic 7SII with a black body. From what I understand they are somewhat of a collectors item. It does need some work. It fires nicely in manual but doesn't work in automatic. I am tempted to get it to a professional. Any ideas? |

I have the Minolta HiMatic 7s. Father of your sII. It is my backup to my Nikon F2AS.The Rokkor lens is remarkably good, and yours should be as well. Best regards, /Clay |

It's a very good lens. A design collaboration between Minolta & Leitz. It's the same lens used on the Vivitar ES, Revue 400SE and a couple of the Konica C3's etc. You won't be disappointed in it's performance. Kiron Kid |

The only disappointment is the meter is dead. I pulled the bottom cover off to see if the connection to the battery compartment was broken. Everything appears to be OK. Luckily it can be used as a totally manual camera. Not unlike my FSU rangefinders. |
