Hello, There is a drop of small metal plate in the viewfinder. I need instruction to open the Rewind lever of my beloved Pentax MG. I'm a novice on this skill so pls tell me the procedure & tools needed. Many thanks, RTogog |

On most cameras, you just stick something in the fork at the bottom end of the shaft, and use the crank handle to unscrew the knob (counterclockwise) off of the top of the shaft. There are a few exceptions ... I don't think the Pentax is one, but before you give it a good twist, check for a screw in the top, or in the side of the knob (usually where it will be hidden by the crank handle when it's folded up)... if you find one, remove it first. You will have some loose pieces when it comes off: the crank is a separate piece, its hinge pivot is (often) a separate pin that will come out, and the spring that holds the crank in the folded position is also often but not always loose. |
