I have a Canon A1, which runs a new battery down. Every time I use the camera I have to purchase a new battery. Purchasing new batteries, is cheaper than some of these repair places. BUT --- what a annoyance it becomes. Can anybody direct me or help me in resolving this problem?
One of the causes of premature battery drain, may be dirt on the insulators in the battery test/viewfinder info switch. A build up of conductive debris can cause a current leakage. If cleaning the plastic spacers does not work, look at the main feed wires from the battery box before delving deeper into the boards and flexi circuits.
