I'm a little baffled by this shutter. It's an ancient 1900's (?) Kodak Anastigmat shutter which failed to open altogether at all settings:

The problem seems to be at 1 o'clock: the metal scythe shaped latch fails to catch the metal wire coil which opens the aperture. It just glides over it.

I've tried bending the scythe back downwards to catch, however it doesn't work. I've tried lifting the coil, however it jams the aperture.

Any ideas how to surmount this problem?

Thanks.

Hi,

It doesn't look quite right, the way the springs are sitting.

Send me a PM and I'll send a scan of A BB shuter that is much the same.

Cheers
Greg
