There is a very long thread on the same problem (I assume you mean that the lens helical itself, and not just the rangefinder, is frozen) on a Pax M2: https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/forum/messages/2/14653.html?1236655189 The solvent that finally did the job in this case was Xylene. It required removing the shutter from the camera, removing the lens cells and immersing the helical in solvent for several days, periodically working the helical back and forth as the grease began to soften. Once the old grease is cleaned out, you can relubricate it. |
