I opened my XA to clean the rangefinder and frame counter, and when I closed it the meter needle was totally off: even in the dark and with low ASA it indicates fast shutter speeds.

I first tried checking the needle alignment as per the service manual and it looks ok, as in the first attached pic.

Next I remembered resoldering the speaker wires that detached when opening the top, and thought the problem might be a solder bridge as the needle and speaker wires are next to each other. I cleaned up the solder with a braid and resoldered all 4 wires, but the problem still persists.

Any suggestions other than performing the needle tests in the service manual, which have (at least for me) a high camera breakage risk? Could it be one of the resistors gone bad?
