Greetings, I just recently joined. This week I bought a Nikon F2 Dp-1. I've had a Nikkormat for 25 years or so, and wanted a 2nd Nikon body. The camera works well and my trial roll looks good. The problem is that the slow shutter speeds from 1/80 sync down to 1 only go when my finger leaves the shutter. So I can make 1/15 down to 1 sec work by removing my finger quickly, but 1/30 and 1/60 (a dn 1/80) are a problem with the shutter. I got around it with my 1st roll by setting the self timer, which activated the shutter OK. I tried adding a tiny bit of lighter fluid through the shutter release (per a thread I read hear) but that has had no effect yet. I have the repair manual and have no issues to remove the top is needed. I have done this on my Nikkormats before. I am wondering if anyone is aware of this problem and has any suggestions as to why its happening. It takes wonderful pictures and I would like to fix it myself (I'm a mechanical engineer and enjoy these challenges) jim |
