Picked up an extremely clean Olympus Pen EED. However, it is missing the battery cover. I beleive it takes the larger px625 battery. Does anyone have a battery cover I can try on this camera? 2nd, the shutter does not open/close when I activate the shutter release. It ~sounds~ like it works and it allows me to advance the film. But on watching carefully the shutter doesnt open when fired. Anyone have any experience with these? |

Since it's an automated exposure camera (as is reported on Camerapedia), it appears to fire on manual/flash mode at 1/15 sec (don't set it to Auto), which should be easy to see. If you don't see any shutter opening, I'd guess it's stuck. I wish I had a battery cover that fit, but I don't think that my Pen D2 parts camera could fit, since the battery cover sits inside the removable back rather than on the outside. |
