I came across this unusual brand and can't find any information on it (just some strange porn sites). It sounds Italian, but apparently was made in Japan. |

Hi Wayne, Is that the one with the Suntar Auto Wide lens ? Just saw such camera listed but the Alvatori name label looks a bit crude. Could it have been fitted afterwards ? Somebody who did a lot of research on Japanese cameras is Flickr user Rebollo_fr . You could try to contact him. |

Yes, that's the one. I have tried to identify the manufacturer by the body (assuming it is a re-badged version of another camera), but nothing is jumping out at me. |

Hey, I just figured it out! It's a Petri FXT. I recognised the taper on the back of the body as being very similar to my Petri 7 rangefinder. I wonder who distributed it as an Alvatori? |

If the Alvatori shield is genuine you should look for an Italian distributor. Wonder if there was not enough room for a leading S. After all Salvatori is a normal italian name. |
