What kind of screwdriver should I get to open the top my jammed Praktica ? I've searched but couldn't find anything that could go in those two small holes, I assume it should be a special screwdriver. https://kyp.hauslendale.com/classics/prakticanotes.html Can anyone post a picture so I could hava an idea? Thanks a lot ... |

It's called a spanner wrench. Go to https://www.micro-tools.com/store/mainframe2.aspx Search for part # SP2 as an example Other methods: Some people grind needle-nose pliers to fit; other times a stout pair or tweezers might work. |

Thank you ! I guess the spanner wrench is the best option as it will be needed to open the lens as well at some point. |

On some of those small screws a paper clip cn be bent so the two ends fit in the holes and when the clip is gripped with pliers the screw can be turned |

Buy some small needle-nose pliers. A dedicated spanner wrench "may" be your ideal preferred choice - but the distance between the pinholes varies between camera models and the application. Needle-nose pliers however will fit all. You will also need to precision-hollow-grind a screwdriver for Praktica top-plate screws - which have a finer slot that those of nearly all other cameras. If you chew up the slots - then you are in trouble. Hope this helps. |
