I'm sorting out my fathers collection of cameras and he's had this camera for years called Pax Golden View. It's gold & green, It looks like its gold plated. Anyway, I'm trying to find info on it with no luck. I'm looking to see what this is worth. Can anyone here shed some light on this one? Thanks |

Hi Gman; Your Pax Golden view was made in 1952/1955. It was a Japanese copy of the Leica and was made by Yamato. My McKeowns 1998 price guide lists the regular (Black) camera @ $65/$100. The Golden model with Green or Red leather was listed @ $300/$450. A search of completed items on eBay reveals none sold. Just a guess, but on todays market it may bring about $100/$125 to the right collector if in mint condition. Richard. |

Well I wouldn't say it's mint, but it's close. As for selling it, would eBay be good, I would love to get 100 for it if that were possible. There's soo many cameras, I'm researching values on but i think at some point I may have to stop. Thanks for the info, it's appreciated & I'm glad I found this website. |

Actually, I found one that sold at Christie's, it appears the auction was in 2005 & it sold for $410. http://www.christies.com/LotFinder/lot_details.aspx?intObjectID=4485157 If that's what's it worth, I'm speechless. |
