I have a Canon A1 SLR that has been idled to quite some time. I now plan to dust it off the start using it again. But now, I'm not seeing anything through the view finder. It was working properly the last time I used it (about two years ago). The battery is fresh and the shutter seems to be firing ok. What could possibly be wrong with it. I have misplaced the owner's manual.

The eyepiece shade is just probably down. Try moving the small lever to the left of the eyepiece.

The mirror got "glued" to the up position by a sticky foam strip. Put your fingernail under the mirror and gently pull down. If it is the strip then it should pop back into position properly.
