I was digging through my collection and came across a forgotten beauty. A visually pristine Ricoh 500.
When I was examining it, I pushed the shutter release button and it didn't fire the shutter and it didn't feel as though it was connected to anything. Also it was extremely slow to return to it's full position.
Does anyone have suggestions for a repair? I'd love to get this old treasure operating again. I love the feel of this camera and am intrigued with the focusing levers and film advance. It's nothing short of camera art.
I don’t know this camera. But assuming it is not an operational error I would go inside and have a look. Without more info what other option do you have? It may be something simple, though getting in may not.
