Leica IIIG body - 1957. Probably worth much more than what you paid for it assuming it's faults are minor, if any.

Nice camera and a good buy. The lens does come off. Numerous other lenses were available for the Leica. It is a 39 millimeter screw mount, often just called "Leica thread mount," or "LTM." If you focus the lens to infinity, it should lock, and you can then use the little focus lever for extra grip to unscrew it. But if it's been on a long time it might be hard to remove. Don't force too hard, esxpecially if you have no other lenses anyway.

The Elmar lens, while not very fast, was nice and sharp. Old Leica lenses are very easy to scratch. Be careful and don't be compulsive about wiping it.

What is a D-Lux? We only know cameras made before 1985.

Read the instruction manual, it is all there somewhere. Go to the Leica site, if you have lost it, for further help.
