Hello Does anyone have any information on the Praktica shutter mechanism, mainly the FX2. My FX2 fires both shutters simultaneously with no delay even when set to B. I have stripped mine down, but cannot see any obvious faults, and I don't want to strip it any further until I get some more information. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Shaun |

Hello, Shaun. Did you find any info about the FX2 shutter? My FX3 doesn't do the slow speeds. Best wishes, David |

Hi; the FX series and the Nova series shutters are operated by a delay mechanism that uses friction from a leaf spring. The leaf spring brushes on the closing shutter with some pressure and delays it. The pressure is adjustable through a screw in the wall between the film cassette chamber and the curtain spindles. If that spring brush is missing or broken then both curtains will move together with no gap for the exposure. I have an FX and I adjusted the shutters as above. I learned this from Tomosy's Book I.
