I have two Canolite ED flash units. I put in new batteries in each and the ready light comes on and lights on both units but neither flash will fire when attached to my Canon 110ED camera. I would appreciate some guidance as to what I should be checking or looking into. Is there something inside the flash unit that I should check? |

Sounds like both units need new flash tubes and I doubt if Canon still has them. I have a variety of tubes but not sure if the units are worth tube replacement (35.00 each flash unit) Art: www.flcamerarepair.com |

First check the metal contact points on the flash foot and the camera's flash shoe. Clean off all dirt, dust, haze, fungus, whatever. Next, if that doesn't fix the problem, suspect the triggering coil. Those always go bad on flashes. If your flash has a test button, push it and see if the flash goes off. If it does then the flashes work and the problem is the camera. |
