I've recently acquired my first Miranda, a very nice "B" model equipped with the rather uncommon Kowa Prominar-Miranda 50mm F1:1.9 lens. I'd understood the "B" to have an instant return mirror, but this example definitely does not. The mirror stays in the up position after an exposure, and is held firmly in that position by spring pressure until the film wind/cocking is operated. Is this a fault, or was an instant-return mirror introduced at some stage in the production run? The only instructions/specifications I can find on the Net relate to the later "C" model which did have the instant return mirror. Incidentally, the model No. is 582021. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. |

Thanks, Tom. Mr.Miranda confirmed that it should have an instant-return mirror, and a little tinkering suggests that a CLA will solve the problem. |
