I recently acquired a Tower 35mm rangefinder made in Germany. It has a Compur-Rapid shutter and Steinheil Munchen lens. I can't find any info on this camera and wonder if anyone is familiar with it and could tell what company made it and about when. Thanks...

I believe some of these were made by Iloca... would have been in the mid-1950s I think. Tower as a store brand of Sears Roebuck, and the name appears on cameras made in various countries.

Following Rick's hint I did a quick search finding this:
http://www.ukcamera.com/classic_cameras/iloca1.htm
Search terms were
iloca compur rapid
in google picture search.
Maybe it helps

Another candidate according to the list on http://www.camerapedia.org/wiki/Sears could be the Braun Super Colorette. Its lens is also a Steinheil although i'm not sure about the shutter being a Compur-Rapid.

Thanks for the references, but none of these are like my camera. It seems strange that I can't find any info on it.

Maybe if you posted an image of your camera we would get the idea.

Sounds like a good idea. I will try to do it soon.
