just came into possession of an old camera. i was using it fine for a few weeks, then tar on the belt causing blank negatives. can i remove this myself? thanks. not eblt, B-E-L-T, sorry.. |

The only cameras with belts that I have heard of were the Canon Rebels/Elans which use one under the base plate to power the film advance sort of like a belt-drive turntable. I can't imagine how tar would get on a belt, etc. Usually as belts get old they lose their tension and sag or get goo-ey. Clean the belt and whatever it connects to with lighter fluid or replace the belt. |
