Before anyone says "just Google it" (and earns my instant dislike), let me say that I've put this question to the Internet oracles and come up empty.

I'm looking for a list of camera fairs/swap meets/whatever one calls them in the San Francisco Bay Area. I thought that surely somewhere there would be some commercially-oriented web page that would have a helpful list of these, but noooo.

The only one I know about is one held in the summer in San Jose that I meant to attend last year but missed. I also seem to remember hearing of such an event at the Cow Palace in Daly City.

Anyone know of such events around this area?

The only listing of trade shows published regularly is in Shutterbug.

shutterbug.com/tradeshows

photofair.com or photorama.com

I'm looking for photo swap meets or fairs, not trade shows.

Well, I replied too fast; looks like Shutterbug's definition of "trade show" is not what I thought it was; unfortunately, they list no shows even close to me.

The first link you gave (http://photofair.com) is the San Jose show--thanks. Turns out the next one is coming up next month. (The other link is in the midwest, so doesn't do me much good.)

I attended the San Jose Photofair (http://photofair.com) yesterday. Not a big affair, but very crowded. Didn't find what I was looking for (Nikkor 105mm 2.5 AIS). Came back with a Pentax-M 50mm 1.4 ($90, "mint" in eBay lingo) and an Oly XA with A11 flash ($60).

I had planned on going to the San Jose show yesterday, but intended to take my bike on Caltrain to get there. Rain changed my plans.

I did spend a few hours today at the Antiques by the Bay "faire" at Alameda Point. Huuuuuuge show. I only saw maybe 10% of the booths. The wildlife I spotted, camera-wise, was a Clarus (in shitty condition), an Argus "brick", some Kodak 35s, a few other cameras. But I did make a good score; see my other "gloat" thread in this forum.

I have heard that there is one on the first "something-day" of every month at Photographer's supply on Bryant street (S.F.)
Hope this helps
