Hi folks, Does anyone here know how to remove the top of a Konica IIIM. I've worked on a number of cameras but I can's seem to work out how this top comes off. Not a screw in sight.

I haven't worked on that model, but Konica didn't like visible screws. There may be a locking nut under the rewind knob, and another under the wind lever, if it has a conventional one. |

Hi Gez. It's nothing like the later models Auto S, S2 etc. This has a front cocking lever and the rewind is very different as well. Anyhow thanks for your reply. |

Places to look/consider: Under the rewind knob, under flash shoe (under trim plate), film counter pin face screw. Also the knurled shutter release button. |

Hi Will. Thanks for the suggestions but I was hoping someone who had worked on one may answer. These cameras are quite different, even the rewind mechanism is entirely different. They are also valuable so I want to obtain as much info as possible before I tackle it. As I said I have repaired dozens of cameras but this is different. |

Hi Howpow,
All the places I mentioned remove the top cover on a III. But I never worked on the M version so that's why I posted it suggestively. There should be someone on the forum that knows for sure. Good luck with the restoration. Konica made a beautiful RF in the 50's. I have a couple III's and I love them. |
