Hello. We've had a Pax M4 for some time now and I just got it out of storage to try and test it out. seems everything works well except for the film crank does not seem to advance the film. I cant even get it loaded properly. Any ideas on what could cause this? Bad spring perhaps? This seems like it may be a simple fix but I have never attempted to repair a vintage camera. Thanks for any info. |

Try spinning the sprocket wheel inside and see if it all snaps back like it should and works again. Your advance lever isn't frozen is it? |

The advance lever works fine. When cranking though the sprocket only turns a little bit. If I move the sprocket by hand it will sometimes lock the lever but a push of the shutter release will unlock lever but not release shutter. if i release the shutter and crank again the sprocket will sometimes advance as what seems to be normal operation. |
