Just picked up an STX-1 from eBay, and the film advance lever is a bit off... it cocks the shutter, but it doesn't spring back at the end of it's travel, and you can't trigger the shutter.

I've opened the bottom panel and released the ratchet, and the advance lever springs back and the shutter can be fired. If I manually turn the advance cog (requires quite a bit of force as it's spring-loaded), it reaches it's maximum range of travel and springs back as normal.

I've noticed that the advance lever has a significant amount of travel in it before it starts to advance the film, could this be the problem? If so, how do I go about fixing it?

I've sorted that issue, but unfortunately the advance lever retaining screw has sheared off, and now I need to find a suitable replacement... anyone know what thread they use?

I have a Fujica ST-801 which has a similar problem.
The advance lever needs to be rotated all the way around til it touches the shutter button, probably
230 degrees or so. I have another ST-801 and the advance lever only needs to be rotated about 150 degrees or so to advance. What could be causing this ?
