I've just found a Ricoh ff-1s. It's in good aesthetic condition but it doesn't fire. Apparently it does'n turn on opening the lens The battery box and the wiring seem ok. Does anybody has got any experience with this small folding camera? |

Alberto I have noted with interest that you have received no answers to your query on the FF-1s Ricoh. I can't help you with your problem, but I have owned one for quite a few years and could never find much info on it. Mine works fine, it isn't an automatic focus, but a purple light flashes, seen from the front, when the shutter is released. What does that small light flash do? I have found data on the FF-1 but it looks different from the front. As I look at mine it appeaars that it might be a difficult camera to get into. Hollis |

Hi Hollis, I own two ff-1 too, and you're right, a red light flashes when the shutter release button is pressed and , I suppose, the light is low. In my FF-1s this light does not turn on, the shutter doesn't fire and the film advance lever is blocked when the camera back is closed. Because of that and because the shutter is electro-magnetic I suspect a failure in a main switch connected to the front cover. But, during my first try, I hadn't been able to open this part of the camera and find it. |
