Hey, Trying to remove the front element of my 70-210, as there is a tiny patch of fungus at the edge. I remove the canon plastic name plate thing (with the lens data etc on it), and the 2 screws from the side of the lens, but I cant figure out for the life of me how the lens comes out? I think the top part might unscrew, but at the risk of marking an otherwise perfect condition lens I figured id ask here first. Cheers! |

Bump! Tried googling around and searching the archives, but to no avail. Surely someone has dismantled one of these before? |

just incase anyone comes across this in the future.. remove the name plate, and by knocking the lens on palm of hand a few times, the front element will drop out. if you remove the top 2 screws you can completely remove the front 2 elements for easier cleaning |
