Well, I'm working on another camera and this one's a Bessa RF. The problem is that it only has one timed speed, about 1/100 second. B&T work fine. No matter what speed you set it for other than B&T though, you get 1/100 second. I've been staring at this thing for three days now and I don't see what it could be. Any ideas? |

Well, I guess I'll just swap out the shutter for another Compur Rapid from a Bessa I. |

Sounds like the escapement (pallet or retard lever) isn't doing its job. That would result in all times being about 1/100 (if it's an older Rapid) except of course the fast speed were the booster spring should engage. Normally the pallet is only disengaged during the cocking stroke of the main lever. |

Well, it sounds like the idea of swapping out the shutter is the way to go then, because I have no idea of how to get into the escapement and wasn't even aware than you can. |

Swapped out the shutter with a Compur Rapid from a Bessa I with no problems. Put the original Heliar lenses back into it and it works fine. |
