I recently purchased an Exakta VX1000 online and am just getting used to working it before putting a roll of film through it. On reading a manual, I've been trying to turn the film speed indicator to match up with the type of film I'm using but it will not move. In the manual it says that if moving the indicator is an issue, then there is something wrong with the rotation of the feeder cartridge spool - but again I'm pretty sure this is working properly. Can anyone shed some light on this for me? Thanks! |

Mine moves freely with fingernail pressure on the raised stud. I don't see any connection to the internal spool, but I haven't got the manual. Perhaps it is just seized through lack of use. |

There's definitely no connection to anything else in the camera. It's only there to act as a reminder, so as long as you can remember what film you loaded I wouldn't worry about it! |
