have a few cameras worts is a minolta maxxum 7000 where the black rubber parts have turned white.looks like oxidation,what to use to clean/remove this and prevent it from reocurring also have the same probem on a canon ae-1 |

Hi,
I have the same problem and I've been reading about it. It seems that it is a chemical degradation in the rubber components and it needs to be sealed. From what I have read, there is a product called 303 Aerospace Protectant that is supposed to work well in this situation. But I haven't found it locally yet to try it. I believe it is an automotive oriented product.
