I'm having a problem with my Canonet: the shutter won't cock reliably. When I say reliably, I mean every frame. It currently cocks like maybe once in every 20 frames. The film advance also does not lock, even when the shutter is cocked. Thinking it could be the common interlock problem, I've opened up the camera, but I don't see anything wrong with the lever. I tried pulling the black lever to the fullest while winding, and that cocks the shutter, but does not lock the film advance. How else can I fix it? Justin |

as I recall the wind lever doesn't lock unless the back is closed and the counter reaches #1. |

[[as I recall the wind lever doesn't lock unless the back is closed and the counter reaches #1.]] That has been my experience too. |

If it's not just the not-to-frame-1-yet issue, your cocking linkage might be bent. i don't have anything on that posted on my website, but i might have something at home....

i half-lied... i DO have the wind-lever-doesn't-lock problem covered on my website: http://rick_oleson.tripod.com/index-30.html ... but not the shutter cocking problem. |

The back is closed, and the frame counter moves okay... It goes all the way to 36 and more. Rick, I followed the instructions on your websites to look at the interlock lever thingy, but it looks fine. |
