I have found info on determining the age of Canon lenses using the date codes in either six or ten digits. I have never found info on the four digit date codes. My Canon FD 50mm f/1.8 lens has a date code of V211. I am guessing this number only gives the date (feb/1981?) and not the plant it was made at?
