I just bought a Yashica Electro 35 GTN from ebay and found the self timer is stripped. It does not catch the cogs when depressed but does spring back. Is this fixable since it is integrated into the lens and if so how expensive a repair is it?
Also, who would you recommend sending it to for repair?
If you can provide contact info for the repair person you recommend that would be awesome.

Over on RFf, I would recommend Russ Sisco (b1msgt). If you are in England, Monopix ( http://www.monopix.co.uk/index.shtml ). As for how expensive a repair, if you could get a cheap parts camera, you could exchange the delay yourself, if you've ever done any kind of camera repair work. Sounds like someone may have forced the delay when it got sticky. But if you don't need it, you can still operate the camera normally.
What the repair involves is removing the front name ring, then the lens element, then a cover over the shutter. After that, you pull off a spring, and unscrew the delay mechanism from the shutter baseplate, and pull it out.
