I'm trying to take off the top plate of my camera to clean the viewfinder, but I can't seem to get the film advance lever off to progress in this. I've googled and googled and I've found a bunch of people with my same problem. Which lead me to find this: http://www.mamiya35collectors.com/topPlate.htm So I tried to follow that and it didn't really help and now I'm stuck here. try I'm not sure what else to do. Or what else to Here are pictures of where I am: http://imgur.com/a/EcdJL#0 the last two photos is where I am now. I removed the meter shaft, but the film advance lever still won't budge. |

I have done this before, but not for a while and my camera is now in pieces (used as a parts donor). From what I can remember, the small, off centre hole is for a set screw. When the screw is removed, the entire top part of the assembly should thread off, but remember that it is a left-handed thread. The advance lever just lifts away after that. |

Hey Waynemel Which off center hole are you referring too? Can you be more clear to where it is? I don't really see what you're talking about. Also not to sure what a 'set screw' is. I googled it though. Made it a little more clear thanks by the way |

On the top of the film advance lever, you can see a small hole off center from the shaft. It is to right in your first image. In that hole should be a very small screw (called a set screw or grub screw). This small screw holds the top "cap" of the lever assembly in place. Loosen that screw, and the "cap" should loosen off (left hand thread - righty loosey, lefty tighty). |

Thanks. I've been trying to do it. But the thing won't turn all the way. Gets stuck. I'll try it a bit harder. It does wiggle a little, though. |
