Hi!
What is the best way to repair a screw hole in wood? The threads in wood are gone and the screw just falls out. Screw diameter is 2mm. Should I fill the hole with something and redrill the hole? The screw cannot be placed anywhere else. |

You've got the right idea: dip a toothpick in glue (Elmer's or equivalent white glue will work just fine), stick it in the hole and let it dry. Cut (or break) off the excess length, then redrill a pilot hole. |

Thanks for help. It worked great. It seems that one of the original holes was not drilled straight, so I fixed that too. |

Wood filler putty works too. The stuff I bought at Home Depot even says on the side of the can it repairs tapped holes.
