Hi, I just purchased a Flexaret IVa that has recently been given a CLA. However, after I got it and gave it a few test shots (without a film in it) the release lever became jammed. Setting the shutter cock seems to make no differance. Any ideas as to why this might have happended and, more importantly, how I can fix it? |

Check out www.hmw-foto.at/flexaret7.shtm which is in german, but the pics are good. Has your camera got the 35mm adaptor fitted? because if it has it looks like you need a film in it to release the double exposure prevention mechanism. Try winding the roller with the film serrations teeth. If it does not have the 35mm adaptor, open up the aperture fully, and check to see if the shutter blades have completely closed. You could also try revolving the 120 film rollers as they possibly control the double exposure mechanism also. |

Thanks Fidji. I feel a bit silly now; the shutter lever only works when a roll has been loaded into the camera. My first time using a TLR too so I've wasted a few frames trying to figure it all out. |
